After some e-mails shared back & forth I really felt I was getting a good vision for their session. They are very outdoorsy and had a lot of shared interests so there was a lot of themes to build upon. Usually, after a consult, I will sketch ideas for locations, pin props, browse magazines for emotion-evoking poses and daydream about possibilities up until the moment the camera is in my hand on the day of the shoot. I wanted to do something that would truly showcase their relationship, the deep love they've cultivated and capture the connection they share not just with one another, but also with nature. Chelsie & Galan came all the way up from Bend, Oregon for their photo shoot and I am so honored they did! Normally I meet up with clients in person before the big day, to get to know one another and ensure we're familiar before the shoot, but with the long distance it just wasn't possible. I have to say though, the minute I met them, it was as if we'd been friends for years! We were instantly at ease, laughing, listening to music & sharing stories throughout the evening. I had so much fun during this photo shoot and that is all because of these two lovely people!

One of their favorite pastimes is to just be out in nature; they love to fish, hike, hunt, ride horses, camp, etc. So the scene was just as important as what they wore or the props they brought. We needed a location that would lend as much beauty as these two exuded, one that was lush, with a water source, dense green grass & woodsy.  I found the perfect spot that had all of that along the Walla Walla River.  They nestled in along the bank, while the sun sparkled off the water behind them and we set up camp. Chelsie had brought along a lot of great props to help set the stage for their photo shoot. I loved her pink vest & matching floppy hat! I've never been very outdoorsy, but I could feel right at home along the river in a cute outfit like that! I can see why he thinks she's a keeper, she's absolutely adorable! You can just see the love they have for one another radiating through their smiles.  It's such a great feeling freeze framing moments like this shared between two people. For our next scene we found our way to a friend's home, who had the perfect rustic red barn & horse pasture to finish off their session in true western style. I should mention Galan is used to having his portrait taken, he was recently captured in a colored drawing by a Houston art student, you can see that beautiful rendering here. I'm pretty sure there isn't a thing this couple can't do. Together they are a force to be reckoned with! Galan & Chelsie, I wish you all the best on this journey to the altar & beyond with your beloved. I hope you enjoy a lifetime of moments like these, sharing your interests & passions together along the way. ♥
